This week, I am thankful:
that we can get Zoe’s windshield fixed for free
Her windshield has a crack spanning the whole windshield, and it seems to have been started by a single ding, perhaps from a rock.

Luckily, this is not my first rodeo with cracked windshields, and I knew we had full, no-deductible glass coverage through our insurance.
Sooo, today a guy is coming to install a new windshield on her car, right in the driveway. Yay!
And she gets new wiper blades too. Double yay!
Honestly, overall, it’s a win if your windshield goes kaput every now and then, because a free new one is pretty nice. 😉
that we are probably done with significant snow/ice for this year
We are almost through February, and it’s fairly rare for us to get frozen precipitation in March.
I mean, I could be wrong. But more than likely, spring weather is on its way. Yay!

I do always feel a slight sense of dread associated with spring weather, though, and that’s because it’s closely followed by summer weather.
And summer weather is a struggle for me.
I try not to think about that, though, so that I can just enjoy spring. 🙂
that I am over halfway through this eight-week class
This is week five of eight, and I have had exactly zero crash-outs over this class.

Every single week, I feel thankful that this class is better than my last one!
Slowly, slowly, I am getting closer to having my four-year degree in hand.
that my life skills are coming in handy for my BSN classes
I am doing a lot of writing, which is something I’ve practiced for years.
And I also have assignments that involve recording myself talking, which is something that would have terrified past me.

But, I have recorded myself pretty often for social media posts, so I have completely gotten over the horror of listening to my own voice. Ha. I think that makes these assignments much easier.
for the snacks in the tele room
Sometimes our patients are on portable telemetry monitors for their hearts, and when the tele packs are no longer needed, we carry them down to the tele room.
Technically, I can delegate this task to my tech, but I sometimes choose to carry the pack down myself because the tele room has a basket of snacks.

And sometimes a hungry nurse just really needs a little packet of junk food as a boost. 😉
that my piano is freshly tuned!
It had gone a little funky and I kept thinking, “Oh, I should let my tuner know.” But then the other day, I got a reminder email about a prescheduled tuning. Sweet.

Now I can play octaves again without hurting my ears. 😉
for the treat that it is to drive my car
I’m kinda fresh into the experience of owning my dream car, which means I’m still pinching myself when I drive it or when I see it in the parking lot.

Yesterday, when I was driving home, I was thinking about how this car feels like such a tangible result of my hard work because I paid for it with my nursing paychecks. Very satisfying. 🙂
What are you thankful for this week?
